Soaring fuel prices are not deterring consumers from going on a car buying spree, according to a survey from Sainsbury's Bank. Figures from the study reveal consumers plan to spend 58.5bn on purchasing cars during the six months from July - 17.46bn more than for the period February to July. The average likely to be spent on a vehicle in the next six months is 8,014, Sainsbury's said.
