Oct. 19 (Bloomberg) -- EBay Inc., the world's largest online auctioneer, said third-quarter profit surged 40 percent after sales in Europe and Asia outpaced growth in the U.S. The company forecast profit for the year that matched analysts' estimates, spurring a 7.3 percent decline in the shares.
